Artwork and Copy Errors:
Customer submitted artwork is reviewed before production and customer submitted disks are preflighted before film output. We pride ourselves on taking every effort to ensure accuracy and that your expectations are met. However, we are not liable for errors in customer submitted art or designers files which inadvertently become part of the product.
Changes or Cancellations:
Changes to orders in progress may require additional charges and/or time. You will be billed for actual work performed on orders cancelled in progress.
Damaged Goods/Claims:
If your shipment has been damaged in transit, please mark the shipper Received Damaged and call us immediately. Well provide you with further instructions.
Colour Proofing:
Because of differences in equipment, paper, inks and other conditions between colour proofing and production pressroom operations, a reasonable variation in colour between colour proofs and the completed job is to be expected. When variations of this kind occurs, it will be considered acceptable performance.
Electronic Files Submission:
We accept all Macintosh or Macintosh compatible files in QuarkXpess, PageMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop and FreeHand. We are generally able to use PC versions of these programs. Any electronic files sent in must have a completed Disk Output Request Form, laser output (hard-copy), printer and screen fonts and attached or imbedded graphic files (EPS, TIFF etc.). Please do not apply traps, we will provide that service at no charge. Incorrect files or problems with PC disks may incur additional charges. Normal production time begins with acceptable film output from your file. It is the customers responsibility to maintain a copy of the original file. Beaver Press Ltd. is not responsible for accidental damage to media or other information or materials supplied by the customer or for the accuracy of furnished input or final output. Until digital input can be evaluated for Beaver Press Ltd., no claims or promises are made about Beaver Press Ltd. ability to work with jobs submitted in digital format, and no liability is assumed for problems that may arise. Any additional translating, editing, or programming needed to utilize customer-supplied (files) will be charged at current rates.
Experimental Work:
Experimental or preliminary work performed at the customers request will be charged at current rates and may not be used until the printer has been reimbursed in full for the amount or the charges billed.
Over-runs or Under-runs:
Due to the number of production processes in the manufacture of your printing, it is not possible to determine the exact quantity we will complete. Please indicate your desired quantity using one of the following methods. STANDARD TRADE PRACTICE - You will be billed for the exact quantity shipped, not to exceed 10% over or under the quantity ordered. NO OVERS - Must be indicated on order. It is possible your order could run short by more than 10%. You will be billed for the exact quantity shipped. EXACT QUANTITY - Add 10% to the price for the special handling involved. NO UNDERS - Your order may run over by more than 10%. You will be billed for the exact quantity shipped.
Preparatory Materials:
Working mechanical art, type, negatives, positives, flats, plates, and other items when supplied by or on behalf of Beaver Press Ltd., shall remain Beaver Press Ltd. exclusive property unless otherwise agreed by Beaver Press Ltd. and the customer, in writing.
Prep Charges:
If your order requires additional prep to ensure optimum results, you will be notified of any additional charges. We would be pleased to quote typesetting or copy preparation charges from submitted mockups. Customer alterations include all work performed in addition to the original quoted specifications. All such work will be charged at Beaver Press Ltd. current rates.
Prepress Proofs:
Beaver Press Ltd. will submit prepress proofs along with original copy for the customers review and approval. Your first fax, blueline, or four-colour process proof are sent to you FREE of charge. Proof approval or changes need to be indicated in writing. Colour proofs need to be returned for production to begin. Normal production time begins after proof approval. Changes may incur additional prep charges. Corrections should be returned to Beaver Press Ltd. on a master set marked either ok to print as is, ok to print with corrections marked, or ok to print with chargeable customer alterations and signed by the customer. Beaver Press Ltd. will not be responsible for undetected production errors if: (a) proofs are not required by the customer; (b) the work is printed per the customers ok; (c) requests for changes are communicated orally.
Printing: PMS Colours:
The print base price includes one or two PMS (Pantone Matching System) colour(s), hairline registration of copy and bleeds. When necessary, a protective overall gloss coating may need to be applied.
Printing: Four-Colour Process:
The four-colour process base price is based on customer supplying a complete set of colour separated composite negatives and a colour proof. A 150 line screen produces the best results.
Quotation:
Quotations are based on the accuracy of specifications provided. Beaver Press Ltd. can re-quote a job at time of submission if copy, film, or other input materials do not conform to the information on which the original quotation was based. Upon receipt of original copy, film or disk, should it be evident that the condition of the material supplied differs from that which had been originally described and consequently quoted, the original quotation shall at the option of Beaver Press Ltd. be rendered void and a new quotation issued.
Rights to Promote:
The plant reserves the right to use all products produced by the plant in the plants advertising, promotional literature or other displays and sample programs unless instructed otherwise in writing by the customer the time of the order.
Rush Schedules:
Getting your job to you before you need it is important to us. Thats why we frequently ship jobs early. If, however, you would like us to guarantee an early ship date, extra charges may apply.
Samples:
We carry a large assortment of sample products, available free of charge. Shipping Information: We normally ship Purolator, ground delivery inside North America. For larger shipments, we use more economical motor freight. If you desire air shipment, please advise us and specify your carrier. If none is specified, well choose an efficient carrier.
Split Shipping:
We will split shipments to different destinations. There is an additional charge for each additional destination.
